Mapp Designs Pillars

  • A unique feature of working with me is an artist touch incorporated into your website/branding. Due to my fine art background, I believe good aesthetics is just as important as the SEO.

I specifically love line art, watercolor techniques and repeat patterns.

  • I believe in an unwavering work ethic. You will see this in my commitment to your project as well as the designs I create for you. Your website and branding should work hard for you. From foundational SEO in your website to visuals that pull in your ideal client.

  • I work with you. I listen deeply, create intentional products and bring you alongside the whole process. I want you to shout from the mountain top when we are done about how excited you are about the end result!

Hi! I’m Kim, and I am SO honored you are here.

If we are going to hang out, here are few things about me…

  • If you were to take a look at my work resume you’ll see that I have taken an unconventional path in life (find a few highlights below). While I have found myself with many job titles, the common denominator has always been doing the job at 110%. From finishing a thesis in a year, winning large grants or taking on leadership roles, I have always prided myself on going above and beyond in whatever I was doing.

A few things along the journey and what I have taken away:

    • 10 years of Website Design experience = technical skills of coding and building out custom sites.

    • Outdoor guide/instructor = Tenacity and Work Ethic

    • Classroom Science Teacher = Communication

    • Masters in Natural Science = “figure-out-ability” If I don’t know the answer right away, I can research the heck out of it to figure it out.

    • Artist and business owner = EVERYTHING BUSINESS (email and social media marketing, course creation, product creation and launch) to name a few.

This is your reminder, when you work with me you are working with more then a designer; someone with extensive personal business experience and more!

  • Before starting Mapp Designs I was a full time ceramic artist. I made the transition from being a full time science teacher to creative business owner to follow a dream. It was daunting, and I can’t believe how much I learned in the first few years of running that business. The steep learning curve and realizing my gifts with design propelled me into Mapp Designs. I saw so many other business owners were scared of getting a website or not knowing where to start with their brand. These were some of my first decisions in my business and it meant everything!

  • Spring: Planting my garden, and taking an annual trip to the desert with my husband.

Summer: Running and biking on the local trails, and finding my way into the high country.

Fall: Wandering the rivers with my brother and dad with fly-rods in hand.

Winter: Stoking the fire, and ski-jouring with my pup.

    1. I live in central Idaho with my husband, baby girl and two dogs.

    2. My three core beliefs are: 1. We can all make a difference in the world. 2. Unwavering work ethic. 3. Above all compassion.

    3. I once didn’t shower for 30 days as I paddled 200 miles of the inside passage along the British Columbia Coast.

  • Mapp is my maidan name and after years of teaching map reading skills and working in the backcountry, it’s hard for me to totally let go of it :).
